Lauren Coad Phd

Lauren is a conservation biologist with extensive experience in both theoretical and practical ecology, protected area evaluation and university-level teaching and supervision.

lauren2She is an Associate Research Fellow at the University of Oxford, an Honorary Research Fellow with UNEP-WCMC, and a member of the IUCN WCPA specialist group on management effectiveness.

Lauren iscurrently investigating the management effectiveness of protected areas in reducing deforestation, and mapping the impact of different governance and land tenure regimes on tropical forest conservation and deforestation.

She is also involved in a long-term study on bushmeat use in Gabon and DRC (in collaboration with IRET, Gabon), and spends a portion of her time working in Gabon.
